There is something eery about these three glass bottles. I took a photo of these glass bottles when I was at home on a winter’s night. They reminded me of a series I’ve watch in primary school with the name “Heidi in die berge/Heidi in the mountains”. In one of the episodes there was this eery scene where older men was sitting and drinking. After midnight they could hear glass clinking and though it was a ghost. I remember how afraid these big bearded men were. But alas it was only an open window and the wind caused the glass bottles in die kitchen to make clinking sounds. In this specific scene, the bottles the men drank from, and the ones I took the picture from was the same color and style. I wanted to paint the bottles as a remembrance of my childhood years and my fondness of this television series.

The three glass bottles is positioned close to each other and are randomly placed. I’ve used yellow shades to create the light. The yellow shades makes one think that a candle might be burning nearby adding to the soft gloomy colours of the background. The soft and light colours in the background is in contrast with the dark green, navy and blue bottles. The use of contrast positions the bottles in the foreground and making the bottles the focus point of the painting. The table consists of layered paint creating the feeling that the wooden table might be old and weathered down after many years. I have added detail to the bottles by adding white paint directly to the edges of each bottle creating a shiny and glossy texture.
